For those who do not know, I have been in a long-distance relationship with my fiancé for nearly 3 years. We were friends for one year and the remaining time has been spent romantically. At no point have we ever lived in the same state, and it’s obvious that I am grateful this season is coming to a close.
Teddy (as I call him) is from St. Louis and I find that with each trip; I fall more in love with the city (though I could do without the driving).
St. Louis Eats!
Me and my Teddy Bear love to eat! And since we are long distance, any time we get together, we make sure good-eating is on that list. We went to a few tasty spots such as U-Craft, Smalls Sliders (we don’t have one where I am in NC), California Pizza Kitchen, etc. By the time I got back home, I was more than satisfied with my culinary experience. I’ve attached some pictures with locations .

New Nails!
One of my favorite self-care activities is getting my nails done. I love having pretty hands complete with pretty nails. Unfortunately, I had been holding out on getting my nails done in NC in order to improve the health of my natural nail bed. However, I knew this no-nail crusade was not going to last for long and I knew that I wanted to use this trip to discover my permanent nail spot.
I couple of weeks ago I had seen a new nail salon that had opened in St. Louis. I had seen their work, and it looked gorgeous, fun, and reasonably priced. I followed them on Instagram and booked my appointment. When I came into town, I had already picked out the type of nails I wanted along with the color and design.
My experience was a 10/10. Great service, quick, and my nails came out perfectly. Butter yellow, simple design with a flower on the ring finger. Furthermore, the pricing was great and made sense for the work and design.
Needless to say, I will be back.
Gym
Me and my love have been meaning to workout together more. To be honest, I much prefer to workout by myself. It’s an escape for me and I like to zone out and dial into the one task of lifting heavy weight. Regardless, I enjoyed our workout time together and we both added some value to the others workout regimen.
It was also during this time that I reached my end of the year goal! 90 lbs single leg squat! I was so excited and I was actually able to do 10 reps! When I was walking into the gym that day, I had told Joe that my goal was to at least push 3 reps. Well I ended up able to do 10 reps which exceeded my expectations. Thank you Jesus!
Now, my new goal is to do double that weight by the end of the year: 180 lbs!
My future mama-in-law showed it to her personal trainer who informed her that I was actually doing more than 90 lbs because the barbell was weighted. If my head wasn’t already big enough, I was fixing to fly away with that comment.
I posted a reel on my Instagram page but I can only put my original video on here without the audio. Feel free to go to my socials to listen to this same video with some praise music.
Fiancé Time!
Being long distance as two people who thrive on quality time and physical touch is not for the weak. It has honestly been more frustrating and painful than I would care to admit. So every moment we get to spend together, we are attached at the hip. Especially Teddy, who is a lot more comfortable with PDA than I was when we first started dating.
He is truly a Velcro boyfriend (soon-to-be Velcro husband) and I love him for it.
Being with him is always so comforting. I am grateful for how God brought us together, but I am more amazed by how He has kept us together. The growth God has done in both of us has been amazing to witness. I am truly loved and I thank God that He blessed me with a man who loves me with a faithful, passionate, and protective love that wonderfully mirrors God’s love for me.
I can’t wait until distance is no longer in our story.
