The announcement of Arcane season 2 has fans excited for the end of this year. Back in the fall of 2021, Arcane took the animation world by storm. Thousands of artists took to their socials posting fan art, edits, fanfiction, and animatics of the hit show. My entire YouTube feed was suddenly flooded with praise reviews from professionals, animation enthusiasts, storytellers, and more. Everyone echoed the same sentiment: Arcane is the epitome of a perfect show.

The show was so carefully crafted, that it was obvious to fans, that it would be a long time before we received a new season. Well Arcane Fans, the wait is over!

Arcane has officially announced their release date along with a brand new first look trailer. Released this past January, this trailer has left many fans, including myself, bursting with anticipation, thoughts and theories.

Arcane Season 2 First Look Trailer

Arcane Season 2 Trailer and Release Date

It was revealed that the release date for Arcane’ s second season will be later this year in November. In the interest of remaining a spoiler-free zone, I will not be going into speculations behind the trailer. However, the first look seems to give credibility to a specific League of Legends theory (comment if you know what it is).

Unfortunately, since I didn’t grow up with video games, I am late addition to the league of legends fandom. However, my deep dive into the lore of League of Legends gave me enough background to develop my own theories. If requested, I plan on going into detail in a later article regarding the various fan theories behind the trailer.

Season 2 Character Returns

It is unclear how Riot games is going to direct this season or how many of our favorite characters will be making a return. As a personal Jinx fan, I would be lying if I said I would not have been disappointed to only be greeted with a new set of characters. Fortunately, according to Tim Surette with tvguide.com

Netflix has only confirmed that Hailee Steinfeld (Vi), Ella Purnell (Jinx), and Katie Leung (Caitlyn) will be back.

This means, at the very least us jinx fans will be satisfied!

Arcane Docuseries

Riot Games has released a docuseries for the fandom to enjoy whilst they wait for their anticipated second season. The series is broken into five parts and is available to watch on YouTube.

The mini documentary expounds on the production of the show including musical composition and the animation process. I highly recommend the watch if animation production is an interest of yours.

Emotions: A personal history

I remember when this show came out in the midst of the covid crisis. After returning home from university, I had finally caught up with Demon Slayer. I was itching for a new show to distract me from my academic struggles.

When Arcane’s thumbnail came across my screen, I remember hearing about it via Instagram, so I decided to give it a try.

Thus was the start of my new obsession for nearly 5 months.

It was perfect! I consumed everything Arcane! I rewatched the show until I practically had it memorized. Then, I would proceed to consume every review, both written and recorded, that would confirm my feelings regarding one of the best animated shows I had seen in years. The color, the animation, the voice acting, the storytelling, the dialogue, everything about this show had my creative heart in a fanatic chokehold.

However, seeing the absolute beauty of the animation and everything that went into its creation, I knew that I would probably have to wait to be fed any delicious Arcane goodness for a while.

So, hearing that we will have Arcane season 2 will by the end of this year has me more than excited! I can’t wait to fall back into my mini obsession hole once again.

Have any thoughts or theories? Tell me about them in the comments!

As always, see you next time!

With Excitement,
