We have reached the first quarter of 2025 and I am so proud of the progress I have made in my fitness journey.
Consistency
My greatest accomplishment has been my consistency. Other than 2 times where I was sick, I have been in the gym at least 3 days a week. I find myself in the gym 4-5 days a week on most weeks. Consistency is not my strong suit.

I used to struggle with reaching my goals, especially if they became too hard. I never saw it as giving up. Instead, it was like taking a break. In my mind, maybe this goal was too much of a task for this season of my life.
Fortunately, I have started breaking out of that mindset and I have been able to see the fruit.
Lat Pull Down
I started this year unable to pull more than 75. My newest record has been 100 lbs. I am so excited! Hopefully this will bring me one step closer to one of my biggest goals: to do a pull up.
Diamond Pushups
After mastering regular unmodified pushups, my goal was to learn as many push up variations as I could. Since the archer pushups were a bit too intimidating at the moment, I decided to start working on my diamond push ups.
I started off with modified diamond pushups. At first, I could only do 5 of these. Then 5 became 7, and 7 became 10. Annoyingly, I was struggling to transition from 10 modified, to 10 unmodified diamond pushups.
My day of triumph came whilst I was doing my plyometrics routine. I decided to try doing a set of diamond pushups and too my astonishment I was able to do 1. Then 2. Then 5.
Y’all…I did a full 10. Not only did I do 10, I did 2 sets of 10!
I didn’t film the experience because I didn’t think I would really be able to do it. So, you’ll just have to take my word for it.
Leg Press
Leg day will always be my preferred gym day. My favorite gym machine is the leg press. The burn that I get on this machine is almost addictive.

I am now able to do 140 lbs single leg press! Together, I can push 230 lbs. I will say, that is my current max and I can only pump 6-10 out of me with that weight. It hurts, it burns, and it is torturous.
I will be doing it again tomorrow.
Abs
Lastly, I have been adding regular ab exercises to my routine. Prior to this year, abs were more of an afterthought rather than a priority. When I did decide to do any core exercises it was something quick, like a 5โ10-minute YouTube workout.
Don’t get me wrong, those YouTube routines are still helpful on a day where I don’t have a lot of time. However, I have tried to make it a priority for me to do more ab focused exercises using the machines designated for this task.
My results have been phenomenal!
Not only do I have a stronger core, but my abs are more visible than they have ever been. I’m giddy to see what progress I will be able to make by the end of the year.
I’ve always been nervous about recording in the gym, so I try to limit how much camera usage I have going on during my workouts. Maybe I will try to step out of my comfort zone so y’all can get a better visual of what I write about.
Until then, I will update you all later. Hopefully with even better news.
With Love,
