If you’ve been reading for long, you know that I don’t mind being busy if it’s of my own choosing. I’m always on the road looking for something to do. Here’s how my last week has been.
Tuesday
Indian with Friends
The fun in my week began Tuesday, since Monday was my rest day. Me and my high school friend had finally found some time to meet up and we were having my favorite: Indian!
We arrived right as they opened for the evening so there weren’t a lot of people inside. Fortunately for us, that meant less distractions, faster service, and the perfect environment for catching up.
For my entree I ordered the Indian goat curry with butter naan and Lassi. As usual, the food was amazing, and the service was wonderful. There was the cutest robot server that brought us our food! Y’all, I was tempted to bring it home.
While eating we caught up on a lot between us. Here’s a little summary of our conversation.
- Romance is dead
- Therapy is our saving grace.
- Work is a pain but we’re too bougie to quit
- Dreams still come true
We ended the day chatting over Sip co. drinks and discussing nothing in particular.
Thursday
Pick and Paint
My mom’s friend came into town the day prior, and they wanted to go to Pick and Paint plus. This shop (my new hobby home) is one of my favorite places in my small town. If you are not familiar with Pick and Paint, it’s a pottery shop where you choose an array of clay trinkets, vases, and mugs and paint them. However, they have to be heated in a kiln, so you don’t get them back for a couple of days.
I had been here before, so I originally wanted to do Biggie the Highland Cow because I love highland cows. However, I couldn’t pass up the Viking mug since I also love drinkware. I went through a flurry of names for him, but I couldn’t find the right one.
- Franky
- John
- Teddy
- Bear
- Prince
I asked a friend what I should name him a couple of days later and I like the name she chose: Victor. In the near future, I hope to update you all with Victor’s final form in my next entry.
Friday
Tik Tok Challenge
Apparently, there has been a contest on Tik Tok and Facebook where friends, family, and spouses try to paint each other. Since the majority of persons are probably not professional painters, the results are hilarious and almost offensive. So me, my sister, and my mom’s friend decided to do some self-portraits instead. I ended up enjoying this little activity more than I thought and I like how my self-portrait came out. The eyes bother me a bit, but if you draw you know how difficult matching the eyes can be. Although I won’t show the others due to privacy, they were also well crafted.
Saturday
Photoshoot
This was the most eventful day of the week, and although it was fun, my energy reserves were tapped out. In the morning, I had a graduation photo shoot I needed to do at High Point University. If you did not know, I do photography as well as my full-time job and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I enjoy taking pictures, finding venues, and editing them to match the vision of me and my clients. Fortunately, it was a beautiful day outside so the pictures turned out great and I was able to enjoy the weather.
Shrek 2: The 20th Anniversary
Afterwards, I immediately ate a snack, took a shower, splattered on some makeup and headed an hour out to charlotte to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We watched one of my favorite movies, Shrek 2, in theaters for its 20th anniversary. This was one of the movies that made me fall in love with DreamWorks storytelling before we got movies like How to train your Dragon. Not to mention it contains one of the greatest song covers of all time!
K-Dog
Since, I was in charlotte, I had to try the new Korean food spot near my sister’s university. I ordered a hot Cheeto K-Dog and one with normal breading. Honestly, it was not my favorite food item mainly because it was sweet! The sweet and savory combination is not something I dislike, but certain produce is not meant to be sweet (in my opinion). That includes hot Cheetos and cheese! Regardless, it was an interesting culinary experience that I won’t be doing again.
Ulta Run & Scent Restock
Afterwards, me and my middle sister went to Ulta and Sephora for some hygiene and beauty restocking. Of course I had to get try the Sol de Janeiro perfume. My favorite scent is cheriosa 62 and I had to get at least 3 of them:
- For my home bathroom
- For the gym (I shower there in the mornings before work)
- For my car
I’m not a fan over overconsumption, but I know I’m going to use up every last drop of each of them.

What’s Next?
Another activity filled week down, and plenty more to go! Help me out and let me know of some fun activities I can do at home or in NC.
Until next time,
