Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows

My consistency in the gym came when I stopped going to reach short term goals. I started to think about the long term fruit I would bear by the seeds I consistently sowed in my present. I would literally talk to myself as if I was my future 35, 40, and 50 year old self!

“Thank you for staying fit for me, I can still sprint.”

“Thank you for lifting heavy even when you didn’t feel like it. I’m still able to lift move and carry all of the tools and equipment on our ranch.”

“Thank you for training your core even though it’s our least favorite part to train. I have yet to fall and I have great balance.”

The rule of sowing and reaping is a fundamental principal. No matter what, everything we do is a seed.

My actions now are an investment in my future. I’m just crazy enough to believe that everything will all work out for me. That doesn’t mean my future will look the way I imagine. Rather, it will work out exactly as God plans.

Sow in the spirit

This is more than just natural goals. Our spiritual futures depend on how we sow right now. That is why I strive to love those who clearly hate me. I aim to read my bible regularly and keep it’s teachings in my heart (although I still struggle with this one). I pray about everything (literally) because I know that even when I don’t see any short term effects, the long term fruit will be undeniable.

As I have stated before, you can tell when some adults, especially older adults did not sow in their youth. Age did nothing but make them mean, hateful, jealous, divisive, etc. They never reaped the fruit of sanctification because they neglected to sow the Word in their hearts.

Don’t Give Up!

If you have goals, passions, and God-dreams and it feels like your efforts are in vain:

Please don’t give up!

Don’t stop posting, or investing, or putting yourself out there for others to judge. Don’t run away from the pressure and fear that may come with your obedience. Stay consistent. And most importantly,

Be encouraged!

Remind yourself of the vision. Grasp that mustard seed faith and hold it tightly. Walk by faith, speak in faith, work in faith, and keep your chin up.

As I stated in my article “I don’t know” I have no idea what the true results of our efforts will look like. But I trust, they will reflect the seeds we have sown.

Stay encouraged and with love,
